It's been a little while coming and there's been a few delays along the way but now 'London With The Lights On', the debut album from STOOSHE is with us.
The girls, (Alex, Courtney & Karis) have taken their time to perfect their sound and image and it finally paid off. The decision to scrap the original album release in November must have been quite a tough one, but the whole thing has had a complete overhaul and is probably better for it.
The big hit singles are included, 'Love Me' & of course the massive 'Black Heart', but the slightly disappointing cover of TLC's 'Waterfalls' is missing, despite getting the thumbs up and an appearance in the video from original band members T-Boz & Chilli, the STOOSHE girls' were recently quoted as saying "We're pretending it didn't happen"!
Some die hard fans may also argue that some of their original rebellious edge has been polished away, the omission of their debut single 'Betty Woz Gone' and removal of any profanities that appeared in earlier tracks could be considered a sign of this.
But there's plenty on 'London With The Lights On' to celebrate. There's more of the 60's influenced, Motown-ish stuff we've come to expect, particularly with current single 'Slip', 'See Me Like This' & 'Your Own Kind Of Beautiful' (which itself is a kind of 'Black Heart' part 2)
The most interesting tracks are probably those that their followers are familiar with from their live shows over the last few years. Songs like 'Hoochie Mama', 'Jimmy' and the call and response "Run...faster" of 'Kiss Chase' have all had crowd singing along for sometime now and translate well to their recorded versions too.
The girls trade mark chatting and interjections on most songs are highly entertaining and brings their true personality to their music.
Of all the new tracks, the high points of the album for us are probably the most surprising tracks. 'Fly Again' is a soaring ballad that really highlights the girls' vocals and harmonies proving they really do mean business. For me, the standout cut is 'My Man Music', a pop-reggae gem that will no doubt be a summer floor filler.
Overall, 'London With The Lights On' is a competent set and should please most fans and casual listeners alike. The girls have made themselves a niché in the market and have shown that they're likely to be around for a while.
We know RITA ORA & CARA DELEVIGNE are BFFs and now they have teamed up for this exclusive new video.
The new remix of album track 'Facemelt' is not due for commercial release but a super stylish video has been created for the track by HUNGER TV aka celebrity photographer RANKIN
How do you share the love? RAPHAELLA is here to show you.
The new video for the beautiful 'The Price Of Love', taken from the 'Idiot' EP, features the singer/songwriter giving out hearts to the general public with (mostly) positive responses!
We love when someone gives us a fresh take on their own tune and this video does just that.
SAM SMITH has produced a new acoustic version of his hit track 'Latch' which he wrote and recorded with DISCLOSURE. The new version takes the song down-tempo and highlights the vocalist's beautiful tone as well as adding sublime strings.
This comes just a few days after ELIZA DOOLITTLE gave us her own pinao version of 'You & Me', the track she recently recorded with the dance act.
While we await new solo material from the London singer (who also currently features on NAUGHTY BOY's hit 'La La La') enjoy this.......
'What Love Is Made Made Of' marks the return of Dubstep Queen KATY B
The new track from Peckham's finest made it's debut on Radio 1 on Friday night with an exclusive play from ANNIE MAC.
Possibly even more rave based than previous tracks, the single is due for release on July 8th with an album, the follow up to her 2011 debut 'On A Mission', due in October.
Meanwhile you can still download her recent 'Danger' EP here for free and you'll be able to catch KATY B live at a variety of festivals throughout the summer
ELIZA DOOLITTLE is set to make a return to the music world this summer with brand new material and has recently been featuring as vocalist on the latest single from DISCLOSURE.

If you've been 'Waiting' to hear some new original music from ELLA HENDERSON, then the wait is over.
One of the biggest stars of last year's X FACTOR has just posted this demo version of a song written with TMS who have also worked with LITTLE MIX, MISHA B, PROFESSOR GREEN & EMELI SANDÉ.
Her vocals sound as good as ever (despite a little cough midway through the song!), hopefully we'll get to hear the full studio version soon, in the meantime have a listen here...
No need to chase THE SATURDAYS anymore, despite engagements and pregnancies, they're back with another big tune.

RACHEL KERR was the 2012 winner of the MOBO Award for Gospel singer of the year and on her new single, it's clear to see why.
Unsurprisingly, the vocalist from the Midlands was brought up singing in the church and learned her craft there, much like WHITNEY HOUSTON, who she makes no secret is a major inspiration.
'I Will Love Me' is a song that has a clear spiritual message and the video has just been released
Also check out a live rendition of the track from her headline performance in London last September
The single is release on July 14th via Elegance Records
MISS 600 are something of a rarity these days, Hannah Garner and David Amar are a duo who's brand of retro-flavoured jazz-pop has managed to crossover. Their debut album 'Buying Time' was recently re-issued and features a nine-piece band, as well as collaborations with reggae superstar MAXI PRIEST, singer/songwriter SAM BEETON and soul diva Sonna Rele (who herself was recently personally signed to Motown Records by superstar NE-YO). Their music has been compared to that of Dutch superstar CARO EMERALD, with some even saying that they have copied her style, however most of the album was written and recorded before she was even known on the music scene and any similarity is just through some kind of jazzy vibes that must have floated over from Holland (at least we think that's what the smell was) Their first appeared on the scene in late 2011 with the debut single 'Twist', a mix of 20's jazz with a funky beat and even some reggae added for good measure, spent seven weeks on the BBC Radio 2 A list.
This was soon followed by 'Typically Me' which also enjoyed six weeks on the BBC Radio 2 playlist.
Earlier this year, their latest single 'Hello' was released, with a suitable retro style video, and again was another success at radio
They have been playing live all over the country for the last couple of years and recently embarked on their own headline tour. We recently caught them live in London. Although performing at a box standard music venue, as soon as they hit the stage they brought a certain air of old school glamour to the place and the air of a smokey jazz club (fortunately without the smoke).
Even before she began to sing, Hannah looked the part in her vintage dress and heels. The band stuck up and got the evening underway.
They performed the majority of the album, with the full band crammed onto a fairly small stage but still managing to recreate the sound of 'Buying Time' faithfully.
While most of the set included the band, there were also moment where the spotlight truly fell on Hannah's beautiful vocals, none more so than on the sublime 'Be Careful Where You Leave Your Heart' There were also covers, like the classic's in the form of PEGGY LEE's 'Fever', to the more recent, ALICIA KEYS 'A Woman's Worth', the song that David explained he first saw Hannah singing accapella in a bar and subsequently asked her if she'd like to work with him.
The show was wrapped up with a lively rendition of the recent single which had the audience hungry for more but sadly it was time goodbye, not 'Hello'
Next MISS 600 will play possibly their biggest gig to date, as support to Italian soul man MARIO BIONDI at London's legendary Royal Albert Hall, with further gigs and appearances planned throughout the summer.
One of the most original artists in the world of R&B returns with her brand new single and video.
JANELLE MONÁE has teamed up with another of the soul world's favourite sisters, ERYKAH BADU for the appropriately titled 'Q.U.E.E.N'
The video for the very funky track is a typically stylish affair as we have come to expect from Miss Monáe, depicting both vocalists as museum pieces brought back to life in the monochrome clip.
Directed by Alan Ferguson, the track is taken from the forthcoming 'The Electric Lady'
JOSEPHINE, one of the most interesting new artists to emerge in the last year, returns with a brand new single.
'Last Minute' is the latest track to be lifted from the Manchester singer/songwriter's debut album 'Portrait' and comes on the back of her recently completed debut solo tour as well as some successful dates in the US, including performances at SXSW.
The song has been remixed by Henry Binns and is released on May 27th. Take a listen to the studio version
And here is a live version taken from her recent London show at Notting Hill's Tabernacle
JOSEPHINE is set for a string of festival dates throughout the summer.
