2012 was a year dominated by the ladies, particularly when it came to those with a soulful edge. However the past year also saw the rise of a few male vocalist with styles that hark back to an earlier era.
The likes of MICHAEL KIWANUKA, JOSH OSHO and MAVERICK SABRE all proved that there is a still a strong market for this genre in the 21st century.
Another new name who sit very comfortably in this group of artists is JACOB BANKS.
Hailing from Birmingham and at only 21 he is an performer that displays a maturity that defies his years.
To get 2013 underway in fine style, Jacob has just released his 'Monologue' EP. A collection of 8 original tracks proving his worth as an artist, and one to be reckoned with.
From the big beats of opener 'Worthy' to the vocal & piano simplicity on final cut 'Something Beautiful' (listen below), the tracks on the EP run through a variety of style not to mention a rollercoaster of emotions.
